With a 49-14 loss to the Texas Tech Raiders, the New Mexico Lobos have now dropped 15 straight games to teams from Texas, a stretch that dates back to 2006.

Texas Tech opened up the scoring with 14 points in the first quarter coming on a 20-yard touchdown pass by Seth Doege and 21-yard run by Eric Stephens. New Mexico did score first in the second quarter -- a 2-yard run by Demarcus Rogers -- but Doege responded with two of his four touchdowns passes that quarter before New Mexico got on the board again. The second and final Lobos score came on Chase Clayton's 98-yard kick return following the second touchdown pass.

Then in a span of 29 seconds inside the final minute of the half, Doege threw two more touchdown passes. The second one came after Tech successfully recovered an inside kick and with just five seconds left to play.

Doege's sixth and final touchdown came with 12:35 left in the third quarter. Those were the last points of the game. Doege finished the game with 340 yards on 27 of 35 passing. Eric Stephens and Kenny Williams ran for 118 and 105 yards. Eric Ward caught three of the touchdown passes and had 90 receiving yards.

New Mexico did have quarterback B.R. Holbrook on the field after sustaining a rib injury last week, but he was just 6-of-11 for 43 yards.

New Mexico (1-2) faces New Mexico St. next week. Texas Tech (3-0) has next week off before visiting Iowa State.
