<p>The <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/san-diego-st-aztecs" class="sbn-auto-link">San Diego St. Aztecs</a> (24-6, 10-4) continued their impressive streak this last week, beating the <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/boise-st-broncos" class="sbn-auto-link">Boise St. Broncos</a> 66-53 on Wednesday and the <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/tcu-horned-frogs" class="sbn-auto-link">TCU Horned Frogs</a> 98-92 on Saturday. As such, they unsurprisingly rose a little higher in this week's <a href="https://go.redirectingat.com?id=66960X1516590&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.usatoday.com%2Fsports%2Fcollege%2Fmensbasketball%2Fusatpoll.htm&referrer=sbnation.com&sref=https%3A%2F%2Fdenver.sbnation.com%2Fcolorado-st-rams%2F2012%2F3%2F5%2F2846701%2Fcollege-basketball-rankings-san-diego-state" rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Coaches Poll</a>, jumping from No. 23 to No. 21.</p>
<p>The Aztecs benefited from the vacuum created by the struggling <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/notre-dame-fighting-irish" class="sbn-auto-link">Notre Dame Fighting Irish</a> (who moved from No. 19 to No. 23) and the <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/louisville-cardinals" class="sbn-auto-link">Louisville Cardinals</a> (who went from No. 18 to unranked). The teams to beat in the upcoming NCAA tournament still appear to be the <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/kentucky-wildcats" class="sbn-auto-link">Kentucky Wildcats</a> and the <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/syracuse-orange" class="sbn-auto-link">Syracuse Orange</a>, who have remained No. 1 and No. 2 respectively for another week.</p>
<p>San Diego had one game remaining in the regular season, squaring off against Boise State on Thursday. Here is a look at the Coaches Poll Top 10:</p>

<p>The New Mexico Lobos watched as their short stay on the Top 25 disappeared within a week, and meanwhile, the UNLV basketball team eases even closer to the Top 10.</p> <p>After a seven-game win streak that put them into the Top 25 rankings, the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/new-mexico-lobos">New Mexico Lobos</a> (22-6, 8-4) have fallen not only from the <a href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/ncaa/men/polls/">latest AP Poll</a>, but also from the lead of the Mountain West Conference standings.</p>
<p>The Lobos lost twice last week, falling 63-71 to the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/colorado-st-rams">Colorado St. Rams</a> (17-10, 6-6) on Tuesday, and then getting blown out 64-83 by the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/tcu-horned-frogs">TCU Horned Frogs</a> (17-11, 7-5) on Saturday. New Mexico has two more games to try to prove themselves, but considering their opponents are the Mountain West basement dwellers -- the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/air-force-falcons">Air Force Falcons</a> (13-13, 3-9) and the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/boise-st-broncos">Boise St. Broncos</a> (13-14, 3-9) -- the Lobos' chances of returning to the Top 25 Rankings appear rather narrow.</p>

<p>Elsewhere, the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/unlv-runnin-rebels">UNLV Runnin' Rebels</a> (24-6, 8-4) basketball team shed it's No. 21 ranking and hit No. 17 after a week where they not only added two wins, but also jumped to the top spot in the Mount West Conference standings.</p>

<p>Both the San Diego State Aztecs and UNLV Rebels went undefeated in conference play last week, and as such both ascended slightly in the most recent edition of the <a target="_blank" href="https://go.redirectingat.com?id=66960X1516590&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.usatoday.com%2Fsports%2Fcollege%2Fmensbasketball%2Fusatpoll.htm&referrer=sbnation.com&sref=https%3A%2F%2Fdenver.sbnation.com%2Fair-force-falcons%2F2012%2F2%2F27%2F2828290%2Fcollege-basketball-rankings-2012-unlv-sdsu-move-up-in-coaches-poll" rel="sponsored nofollow noopener">USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll</a>. The Aztecs, who knocked off the <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/wyoming-cowboys">Wyoming Cowboys</a> and surging Colorado State Rams, moved from No. 25 to No. 23, while the Rebels, who defeated the Boise State Broncos and <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/air-force-falcons">Air Force Falcons</a>, jumped up to No. 17 from No. 20.</p>
<p>It's not all good news for Mountain West teams though, as the <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/new-mexico-lobos">New Mexico Lobos</a> fell from the poll after losing two straight games to Colorado State and the <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/tcu-horned-frogs">TCU Horned Frogs</a>. The Aztecs will finish the regular season this week with two straight road games against Boise State and TCU, and the Rebels will travel to Colorado State on Wednesday before ending with Wyoming at home over the weekend.</p>
