The Denver Nuggets enter the week playing good basketball -- they went undefeated on a four-game road trip over the last week, which included a thrilling double overtime win over Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks. The Nuggets are in second place in the Northwest and second in the Western Conference, behind Oklahoma City in both cases.

The team's full schedule is available here, and this is a look at the week ahead:

Jan. 25: at Sacramento Kings (8:00 p.m. MT, Altitude)
Sacramento is 6-11 overall, though four of those wins came at home. Tyreke Evans is averaging 16.5 points per game, while DeMarcus Cousins leads the team with 10.6 rebounds per game.

Jan. 27: vs. Toronto Raptors (7:00 p.m. MT, Altitude)
Toronto begins the week with the longest losing streak in the NBA (eight games), and that streak has sunk them to the bottom of the Atlantic division. It doesn't help that the Raptors' leading scorer, Andrea Bargnani, hasn't played since Jan. 11.

The Denver Nuggets survived a trip to Madison Square Garden by outlasting the New York Knicks in double overtime, 119-114. Danilo Gallinari and Al Harrington led the way for the Nuggets, scoring 37 and 24 points, respectively. Gallinari and Harrington finished with double-doubles by each pulling down 11 rebounds. Impressively, Gallinari drew numerous fouls and wound up making 18-of-20 free throws.

The Nuggets almost closed this one out during regulation, but with just a second left Carmelo Anthony launched a 23-foot jumper to tie the game at 98. Anthony, making his first appearance against the Nuggets since last February's trade, scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and doled the ball out for five assists. He was 10-of-30 shooting, and Nuggets fans remember 'Melo putting up poor shooting nights like that.

The Nuggets played a short bench in the game with just Harrington and Corey Brewer receiving playing time. Andre Miller started with Arron Afflalo out for the game and chipped in 14 points and 12 assists. Nene, returning from a bruised heel that kept him out on Friday, scored 12 points and was around the glass for 13 rebounds.

The Knicks also received plenty of their game from Landry Fields and rookie Iman Shumpert, each scoring 18 points.

The Nuggets (12-5, 6-3 away) have won all four of their road contests on this trip and will try to make it a perfect 5-for-5 on Wednesday when they travel back west to visit the Sacramento Kings.

The Denver Nuggets are down at halftime against the New York Knicks, 54-46, on Saturday night. In his much anticipated first game against the Nuggets since he was traded last February, Carmelo Anthony has just five points on 2-of-9 shooting, but he has pulled down five boards and dished out the ball for four assists. Rookie Iman Shumpert has 11 points to lead Knicks scorers while Bill Walker has a team-high 13 points.

For the Nuggets, Danilo Gallinari has a game-high 15 points and is second on the team with five rebounds. Nene, who is back from an injured heel, has grabbed seven boards, distributed the ball for four assists and added four points. Timofey Mozgov has added 10 points. However, the team is shooting just 41 percent from the field.

The Denver Nuggets will need center Nene to play in Saturday's game against the New York Knicks if they plan to come away with the victory. While the Knicks are on a five-game winning streak, Carmelo Anthony will surely want to be his old team. Nene's heel, though, has been an issue for several weeks and the Knicks would be able to take advantage of that if the center sits out the game. However, it appears that he will play against the Knicks, reports Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post.

Nene has missed four game already this season, including yesterday's victory over the Washington Wizards. Nene is averaging 13.5 points and 8.8 rebounds, both above his career averages. He'll surely want to play in this game, the team's only visit to Madison Square Garden and the place where his NBA career began in June 2002.

The Denver Nuggets get only one shot at Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks this season, and it comes at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. It's not quite what Nuggets fans were hoping for, but that's what happens with a lockout-shortened season.

The Nuggets enter this contest on a three-game winning streak, having won the first three games of this current road trip. The 11-5 Nuggets defeated the Milwaukee Bucks by 10 points and then followed that with back-to-back 108-104 wins over the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards (the former came in overtime).

Andre Miller and Al Harrington have been strong contributors off the bench this season. Miller led the Nuggets with 28 points and 10 assists against the Sixers while Harrington scored 29 points against the Wizards.

The Knicks, meanwhile, have hit a rough spot on the schedule with a five-game losing streak. The first two losses came on the road to the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the last three at home have been just as bad. On Friday night, the Bucks defeated the Knicks, 100-86, for its first road victory of the season. Carmelo Anthony, who has missed games due to injury this season, put 35 points on the board in the losing effort.

For the Wizards, John Wall sniffed a triple-double, totaling 13 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, but his 4-17 shooting from the field was symptomatic of how things went for Washington, who only shot 42% as a team.
