The 2012 Senior Bowl has come and gone and now it's time for the 2012 NFL Combine and pro day workouts to come before we have the big three-day event for the 2012 NFL Draft. But who helped raise their draft stock following Saturday's performances in the Senior Bowl? Boise St. Broncos running back Doug Martin was impressive all throughout practice and then he followed that up with a solid performance in the actual game. Sports Illustrated's Tony Pauline names Martin as one of his draft risers following the game:

Martin had several nice runs during the game, but its [sic] the little things he did well that made him stand out. In the first quarter Martin did a terrific job picking up pass protection assignments and knocked Melvin Ingram from the action on one occasion. Later in the half his downfield block allowed Arizona State receiver Gerrell Robinson to waltz into the end zone. Even before the game scouts stamped Martin as an early second-round choice.

Martin appears to have allayed concerns over his height (5 feet 9), and if he can be an early second round choice, he certainly could sneak into the back of the first round if a team felt it needed to pick a back then or trade back in to make certain he would be available for them.

Right now, it appears that Martin an safety George Iloka are looking to be the first two Boise State players drafted in 2012.

As one of the key events leading up to the 2012 NFL Draft, the 2012 Senior Bowl provided some of the top potential prospects in the upcoming draft with the opportunity to shine in front of NFL scouts and coaches.

One guy who has impressed scouts throughout the week is former Boise St. RB Doug Martin. In limited touches, Martin carried over his impressive form from practice, as he rushed for 19 yards on just four carries. Martin wasn't the only Boise St. player to have the attention of scouts, as Kellen Moore also had a chance to show that his game could translate to the next level. Moore struggled with his accuracy, completing just 6/12 attempts, with no TD's or interceptions.

Russell Wilson, who was once part of the Colorado Rockies organization before deciding to pursue football, also struggled a bit in his appearance. The former North Carolina St. and Wisconsin QB completed just 4/7 with a TD pass and an interception.

Having played for a team that was always on the outside looking in at the elite of college football, Boise St. Broncos Kellen Moore, Doug Martin, George Iloka, Shea McClellin and Billy Winn are used to having to prove themselves. The process will continue for the trio on Saturday at the Senior Bowl, where they will go up against some of the best college competition in the country in order to impress NFL scouts.

The spotlight will shine particularly bright on Moore, who is arguably the most decorated player in school history, but is seen by most pro scouts as a marginal NFL prospect. Moore will enter the game second over Michigan State Spartans QB Kirk Cousins for the North team and will be throwing to receivers such as DeVier Posey of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Marvin McNutt of the Iowa Hawkeyes that are serious pro prospects. Martin will be competing for playing time and attention with a few talented backs, including Ohio State's Dan Herron and Chris Polk of the Washington Huskies, who was the Pac-12's First Team All-Conference running back.

But it's Winn who is seen by most as the best pro prospect of the three, and he'll potentially have a chance to play himself into the bottom of the first round with an explosive performance in Mobile. He'll be going up against some talented linemen on the South roster, including SEC standouts William Vlachos of the Alabama Crimson Tide and Ben Jones of the Georgia Bulldogs, who Winn faced in the Broncos' opening game of the 2011 season.

The Boise St. Broncos will likely see several players drafted on Day 2 of the 2012 NFL Draft on April 27. With the NFL Draft now spanning three days, Day 2 involves Rounds 2 and 3, still a pretty good spot for many players to be drafted at. Over at ESPN (Insider only), Todd McShay and a couple of others believe the Broncos have three players who will go on Day 2: safety George Iloka, running back Doug Martin and defensive lineman Billy Winn.

None of these names are new to Day 2. Iloka is battling Notre Dame's Harrison Smith to be the No. 2 safety off the board behind Alabama's Mark Barron, who might be the only safety drafted in the first round. Martin is an undersized running back at 5 feet 9, but he's in a group of running backs that includes Lamar Miller and LaMichael James who could crack thee back end of the first round. Winn can move between end and tackle on the defensive line, increasing his versatility.

One of the more intriguing middle round prospects for the 2012 NFL Draft is former Colorado Rockies prospect and Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Russell Wilson. If he were several inches taller than the 5 feet 10 inches he was measured at during Senior Bowl practice, Wilson would likely be considered a first-round draft pick.

And obvious comparisons to Drew Brees over height concerns are made, but even Brees was a second-round pick. At the time, the first pick was the No. 32 overall pick, which a year later was the last pick of the first round. Depending on how one wants to view things, Brees was still pretty highly though of as a prospect either way.

Wallace, though, does appear to a closer comparison. He was a fourth-round draft pick in 2003 and has bounced around from the Seattle Seahawks to the Cleveland Browns, starting games for both teams. He's never quite shown that he can lead a team for a full season, but his size (5 feet 11, 196 pounds) hasn't prevented him from having a long career.

For all the 2012 NFL draft prospects at the Senior Bowl, this is their chance to either confirm the solid play they've put on tape in their college career, or show the progress they've made since their freshman year. With NFL scouts and personnel staff watching very closely during the first three days of team practices, many of come away with new impressions or reinforced opinions of the players they evaluated. Wes Bunting of the National Football Post spent the week talking with scouts and drawing his own insights on the best players in attendance, and a member of the Boise State Broncos made is list.

Boise State running back Doug Martin comes in as the No. 9 overall prospect at the Senior Bowl, according to Bunting. The 5'9" running back may not have a top 40 time, but Bunting sees plenty of potential in him:

Martin isn't a dynamic size/speed guy, but there aren't many negatives to his game. He plays fast, runs low, is natural through the line of scrimmage and has a skill set somewhat similar to former Alabama RB Mark Ingram. He might fall a bit because he doesn't run overly well, but he has the skill set to start in the league.

As for potential fits in the NFL, Bunting notes that the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers would all be a great place for Martin to land on draft day.

The efforts of graduating quarterbacks such as Boise State's Kellen Moore and Wisconsin's Russell Wilson to prove to NFL teams that they're capable of handing what the league can throw at them continued on Wednesday at the 2012 Senior Bowl.

Unfortunately, it's hard for scouts to get past things as obvious as size, and both players come up well short of expectations in that area. Moore stands at just 5-foot-11 and weighs 191 pounds, while Wilson came in at just 5-foot-10, 203 pounds. Considering that, those two have had a whole lot to gain with the attention they've received at this year's Senior Bowl, but the results have continued to be underwhelming.

SB Nation's Alfie Crow is down in Mobile taking in the whole scene, and he wasn't impressed by Moore once again during Day 2:

Boise State's Kellen Moore continued to struggled getting the football to spots, especially on out routes. On most passes deeper than about 15 yards, Moore either threw the football at the receivers knees or over their heads. While his lack of arm strength isn't a shock to most people, it's clearly going to limit what he's able to do in the pro game.

Wilson underwhelmed, as well.

Russell Wilson struggled with his accuracy again, especially on some out routes. Wilson did throw a beautiful deep ball in one-on-one drills, but wide receiver T.J. Graham just couldn't haul the ball in.

These are guys that really only receive attention as NFL prospects because of the stunning success that they had during their respective college careers. If they can't prove to NFL scouts that they're capable of making the throws required of quarterbacks in that league, they likely won't last very long.
