Kellen Moore closed out his college career as a winner by leading the Boise St. Broncos to a 56-24 victory over the Arizona St. Sun Devils in the 2011 Las Vegas Bowl. He picked up his 50th career victory, an NCAA record that will likely be hard to be challenged. Moore won 94 percent of games he played in and will now look to transition to the pro game.

The Broncos played a sloppy game in the second half, but the Sun Devils were equally as sloppy. Two Moore turnovers results in Arizona State failing to convert on fourth down twice, the second attempt turning into a 100-yard touchdown interception return.

Outside of the fumble and two interceptions, Moore was 23-of-30 for 266 yards and two touchdown passes. But it was running back Doug Martin who had the biggest game. He rushed 30 times for 151 yards and had two total touchdowns. He returned the opening kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown and scored the last Boise State touchdown when he rushed for a two-yard score.

The Broncos improved to 12-1 on the season and the Sun Devils fell to 6-7.

The Arizona St. Sun Devils briefly had hopes of staying competitive with the Boise St. Broncos in the 2011 Las Vegas Bowl, but it all ultimately turned for naught in the third quarters. The Broncos lead the Sun Devils, 49-10.

The second half began like the first did with a kickoff return for a touchdown. This time, though, the Sun Devils scored a 98-yard touchdown, putting the Sun Devils down, 28-10. But then Arizona State failed to convert Boise State turnovers. Kellen Moore threw an interception on his first drive of the second half and then saw Arizona State reach fourth down. Brock Osweiler commanded the punt team to return to the sidelines. He then threw and incomplete pass.

On his next drive, Moore fumbled the ball at the 50-yard line and gave the ball back to the Sun Devils. Arizona State brought the ball down to the Boise State one-yard line and needed a fourth down to score the ball. Head coach Dennis Erickson attempted to get a time out, but it wasn't granted. Instead, Osweiler threw the ball into the hands of Boise State's Jamar Taylor, who returned it for a 100-yard touchdown return.

Boise State then scored two touchdowns in the first minute of the fourth quarter. D.J. Harper ran for the first and Travis Stanaway picked up the ball on a fumble by Cameron Marshall before finding the end zone for a score.

Boise State Broncos quarterback Kellen Moore is halfway to his 50th career NCAA, as his team leads the Arizona State Sun Devils at halftime, 28-3. Should the Broncos hold on for the win, and there's no reason to doubt they won't, Moore will have an NCAA record that will be nigh impossible to break.

After taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, the Broncos didn't let up in the second. After Brock Osweiler lost 20 yards on a drive toward the end of the first quarter, the Broncos began the second with an offense ready to score some more points. Three minutes into the quarter, Moore threw his second touchdown of the game when he found Matt Miller for a two-yard touchdown.

The Sun Devils did get on the board with a 32-yard field goal, but the Broncos answered back in the final two minutes of the half. That last score, however, saw Moore on the sidelines and the Broncos running a trick play. The backup quarterback, Grant Hedrick, took the snap under center and pitched the ball to Matt Miller. Miller then threw a pass to Kyle Efaw for a five-yard touchdown.

The Boise State Broncos have opened up the 2011 Las Vegas Bowl with 14-0 lead over the Arizona State Sun Devils after the first quarter. After Doug Martin's kickoff return for a touchdown, the Broncos were only able to find the end zone one more time. Quarterback Kellen Moore led his team from its own 46-yard line and hit Arizona's 14-yard line toward the end of the drive. Moore then threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Shoemaker, who made that his 16th touchdown of the season. Shoemaker was a few steps ahead of his defenders, who were befuddled as a result of dealing with a tight end.

Moore did throw an interception a couple of drives later, but on Arizona State's subsequent drive quarterback Brock Osweiler lost the ball and wound up with a loss of 20 yards. The Broncos will look to extend their lead by a third touchdown in the second quarter.

The Boise St. Broncos wasted no time in scoring during the 2011 Las Vegas Bowl. Running back Doug Martin returned the opening kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown return. Martin had to escape a few tackles, but once he hit close to the right sideline, no Arizona St. Sun Devils defender was able to catch him. Kellen Moore and the rest of the Broncos offense was cheering wildly on the sidelines.

For the Sun Devils, though, this was not the way the team wanted to start the final game of head coach Dennis Erickson's tenure at the top. Quarterback Brock Osweiler will need to get the offense off to a quick start and linebacker Vontaze Burfict will need to disrupt Kellen Moore.

The 2011 Las Vegas Bowl kicks off on Thursday night as the Arizona St. Sun Devils face the No. 7 Boise St. Broncos in a match-up that's noticeably lopsided. Boise State failed to make a BCS bowl and ended up in this situation as a result, which has led to some pretty strong responses from the Broncos.

Boise State finished the season with just a single loss on the year, and that loss only occurred due to a missed field goal by the Broncos as time expired against the TCU Horned Frogs. Arizona State, on the other hand, recently fired its coach, Dennis Erickson after finishing this season with a 6-6 record. He will coach the Sun Devils in this game before giving way to Todd Graham, who unceremoniously informed his Pittsburgh Panthers that he left the job via text message.

Expect the Broncos to try to take out their frustration on the Sun Devils, which should at least be entertaining to watch.

Kellen Moore has had a pretty good career as the Boise St. Broncos quarterback. He broke Colt McCoy's NCAA record for career wins this year and should reach win No. 50 when he plays against the Arizona St. Sun Devils in the 2011 MAACO Las Vegas Bowl. He's completed nearly 70 percent of his passes and thrown 140 touchdowns in his career.

And for the second year in a row, Moore has been named the top quarterback in the country by the Touchdown Club of Columbus. He joins the USC Trojans' Matt Leinart and the Miami Hurricanes' Ken Dorsey as the only two-time, back-to-back winners in the awards.
In 2007, Tim Tebow won the award while a member of the Florida Gators.

The Boise St. Broncos are 11-1 and playing in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl for a second year in a row. In 2010, the Broncos defeated the Utah Utes, 26-3. This year the Broncos face the Arizona St. Sun Devils of the Pac-12. The opening line for this game had the Broncos as 11.5 point favorites over the Sun Devils, according to Odds Shark. That line has already moved to 13 points.

The Broncos haven't played the toughest schedule, but they had a great win to start the season against then No. 19 Georgia, 35-21. A Georgia Bulldogs team, mind you, that played in the SEC Championship (42-10 loss, be damned). But the Sun Devils are hardly an example of a good team. After starting 5-1, Arizona State went 1-5 in its last six games and lost four straight to close out the regular season.

Both teams feature strong offensive prowess, but the Broncos' allow the 10th fewest points at the FBS level (18.3). Will Brock Osweiler and the Sun Devils be able to overcome that stout defense? The over/under for this game opened at 65 points and moved by 1.5 and 2 points on later lines. A shootout appears in order for that to happen.
