The Colorado St. Rams will look to improve on their 2010 record of 3-9 and a big part of that will be the continued growth of quarterback Peter Thomas. As a true freshman in 2010, Thomas started all 12 games, completed 64.7 percent of his passes and threw for 2,662 yards. He had 11 touchdowns to 13 interceptions, however.

But with an experienced returning offensive line and wide receiving corps, Thomas will have plenty of help. The running game is still in question, though Raymond Carter should provide senior leadership. The loss of highly-touted recruit Kapri Bibbs for the season hurts, but the Rams offense appears ready to go.

Head coach Steve Fairchild recently told Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post about Thomas and the offense:

He is a lot better. It was very apparent when we went back and reinstalled our offense in spring ball how far ahead of the curve we were now that we had a returning quarterback. Just by the nature of that position.

The Rams start the season on Sept. 3 with a game against the New Mexico Lobos, one of the team's they beat in 2010. After a Sept. 17 game against the Colorado Buffaloes the schedule doesn't pick up until Oct. 15, when they host the Boise St. Broncos. In November, the Rams face a three-game stretch against San Diego State, TCU on the road and the Air Force.

Pete Thomas surely seems up to the task of leading his Rams.
