Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow picked up his first career win in his first career start at INVESCO Field at Mile High today, defeating the Houston Texans, 24-23. Tebow now has his first career fourth quarter comeback, scoring the game-winning touchdown on a six-yard run with a little over three minutes to go.

Tebow started the drive on his own 24-yard line and never let up. He converted a third down by completing a 22-yard pass to Correll Buckhalter, who took over running back duties for the re-injured Knowshon Moreno (ribs). Eventually, the team wound up on Houston's one-yard line, but a false start penalty put the Broncos back five yards. Tebow took the snap and ran to his left to tie the game at 23 all. Steve Hauschka kicked the extra point to put the Broncos up by a point.

It was a tale of two halves for Tebow. His first drive ended prematurely when he threw an interception in the end zone, and he finished the first half with 7-of-12 passing for 100 yards and a 50.7 QB rating. In the second half, Tebow turned things around, helping the Broncos outscore the Texans, 24-6. Tebow's 50-yard throw to Brandon Lloyd helped set up Correll Buckhalter's six-yard touchdown run, the Broncos' first score of the game. To start the fourth quarter, Tebow led another long drive that resulted in a 23-yard touchdown pass to Buckhalter. He capped it off with a late fourth quarter drive to put the Broncos ahead, 24-23.

Tebow finished the day 16-of-29 passing for 308 yards, a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown and an interception.

With just over a minute left on the clock, the Broncos' Syd'Quan Thompson intercepted a Matt Schaub pass that was tipped at the line by defensive lineman Justin Bannan to seal the victory. In the end, the Broncos' defense was able to hold the Texans--barely.

Broncos receiver Brandon Lloyd caught five passes for 111 yards and now holds the record for second-most receiving yards in a season with 1,375 (In 2000, Rod Smith took the record with 1,602 yards). Correll Buckhalter came up big when it counted most, despite modest stats (42 yards on the ground).

Still, this game was not without its pitfalls. Matt Schaub threw for 310 yards against the defense and Arian Foster was able to run for 91 yards. Also, Mike McCoy's play-calling in the first half was questionable, though those screen passes started to work in the second half.

The Denver Broncos improved to 4-11 on the season and will finish the season at home next Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

Has Tim Tebow led the Denver Broncos to his first career NFL fourth quarter comeback?
Tim Tebow has looked like a different quarterback in the second half of this game against the Houston Texans. He just completed a neat screen pass to Correll Buckhalter for a 23-yard touchdown pass. The Broncos still trail the Texans, 23-17.

In the second half, the Broncos have outscored the Texans, 17-6. Tebow is 6-of-10 for 163 yards and a touchdown pass in a quarter-plus play during the second half.

The Denver Broncos started the second half with a scoring drive, to put the score at 17-7. Tim Tebow and Jabar Gaffney connected on a 50-yard reception, which was followed by two Correll Buckhalter runs. After a nine-yard gain, Buckhalter ran six yards to enter the end zone and put the Broncos on the board.

However, the Texans' Neil Rackers countered with a 54-yard field goal to put his team up, 20-7.

The Houston Texans lead the Denver Broncos, 17-0, at halftime in a one-sided affair. The Broncos have been able to do anything on either offense or defense so far. However, the Texans kick started their offense after two three-and-outs to start the game. Running back Arian Foster capped a six-play, 91-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run to give the Texans a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub and his wide receiver, Jacoby Jones, connected on two passes for a total of 81 yards. This set up a touchdown pass to tight end Owen Daniels to put the Texans up, 14-0. Neil Rackers added a field goal near the end of the first half.

Foster has 66 yards rushing and Schaub is 10-of-12 for 170 yards.

As for the Broncos, rookie Tim Tebow has had his issues and is 7-of-12 for 100 yards and an interception. Knowshon Moreno is the leading rusher with 19 yards on seven carries. Jabar Gaffney has 32 yards receiving and was blasted on an overthrown pass.

The Denver Broncos defense continue to show everyone that there are huge problems with it. At the start of the second quarterback, Matt Schaub took control of the drive. He and Jacoby Jones hooked up for a 47-yard reception and then for a 34-yard gain over the middle of the field. The Texans were on the Broncos’ four-yard line.

Running back Arian Foster was unable to find the end zone on the ground, so Schaub threw a three-yard touchdown pass to tight end Owen Daniels. The Texans now lead 14-0.

He made two short passes that went for long gains and had 43 yards. But on Houston’s 11-yard line, Tebow threw a pass intended for Brandon Lloyd. Instead, the ball went into the hands of cornerback Jason Allen, who was in the end zone.

However, the Texans failed to capitalize on the turnover and went three-and-out once again. The game is still tied at zero.
