With roughly six minutes to play, the Denver Nuggets led the Orlando Magic, 92-91. Vince Carter had just made a successful three-point shot, but the Nuggets didn’t wilt away from the challenge. Instead, the team went on a 19-3 run to end the game, winning 11-94.

Carmelo Anthony put up a double-double, scoring 35 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He was 14-of-21 from the field. Nene also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Ty Lawson filled in for the ailing Chauncey Billups and added 16 points, three rebounds, six assists and one steal.
Carmelo Anthony is having no trouble shooting baskets tonight, as his 20 points helped the Denver Nuggets take a 61-55 lead over the Orlando Magic at halftime. Melo has hit 9-of-12 shots and made 2-of-4 free throws. He also made six rebounds.

Point guard Chauncey Billups re-aggravated his wrist injury, which gave Ty Lawson the start tonight. Lawson has done well so far, adding nine points and dishing out four assists. Arron Afflalo scored six points, and Nene added nine points and four rebounds. Shelden Williams started at power forward, but has scored zero points in five minutes on the court.

Al Harrington has played 15 minutes off the bench and scored six points. J.R. Smith and Anthony Carter combined to score 13 points, giving the bench a total of 19 points so far.

For the Magic, J.J. Redick has 17 points off the bench and is 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Center Dwight Howard contributed 14 points and six rebounds.

The Denver Nuggets finally get some home cooking tonight against the Orlando Magic, after going 1-3 on a four game East coast road trip. But with Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson coming to town, Denver might not be saying "There's No Place Like Home."

Howard is an MVP candidate leading his team in points (21.5 per game), rebounds (12 per game), steals (1.1 per game) and blocks (2.4 per game). The only major statistical category Superman isn't leading the team in is assists, and that honor belongs to Nelson at 7.2 per game.

Besides those two, three other Magic average double figure scoring per game. That list includes Vince Carter at 15 ppg, Rashard Lewis, 12.3 ppg and Brandon Bass, 10.6 ppg. Despite all the front end scoring, the Magic only average 97 ppg as a team, but have earned their 16-8 record the hard way, through defense, where they allow a meager 91.9 ppg, which ranks them fourth in the league.

Quite the opposite, the Nuggets are third in the league in scoring, pouring in 106.7 ppg while giving up 104.9 ppg, which ranks them 23rd in the NBA.

The Nuggets get their scoring from six players who average double figures: Carmelo Anthony, Nene, Chauncey Billups, Al Harrington, Arron Afflalo and J.R. Smith. Add in Ty Lawson's 9.8 and Denver has seven guys who can be relied on for a scoring punch.

The game tips at 7:00 p.m. at the Pepsi Center and can be seen on Altitude TV.
