Cubs vs. Rockies: Colorado out to sweep Chicago

After another rainy night in Denver saw another Colorado Rockies victory over the Chicago Cubs, Colorado will seek to finish the sweep when the teams meet Thursday afternoon.

In a game that was delayed by rain for an hour and 24 minutes in the seventh inning on Wednesday, the Rockies scored all six of their runs in the first three innings to cruise for the win. Starter Drew Pomeranz got his second victory of the season, tossing five innings and giving up only three hits in his contribution towards the shutout.

Jhoulys Chacin (2-5, 4.73 ERA) will start for Colorado on Thursday following a no-decision in his last start on Sept. 22 against the Arizona Diamondbacks where he threw four innings and surrendered three earned runs in the 8-7 loss.

The Cubs will send Chris Volstad (3-10, 6.22 ERA) to the mound. Volstad also notched a no-decision in his previous start on Sept. 21 after going five innings and giving up three earned runs in a 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. MT at Coors Field, and the game will be seen on Root Sports.
