Rockies vs. Cubs Recap: Colorado wins another rain-soaked outing, 6-0

For the second-straight night, the Colorado Rockies defeated the Chicago Cubs in a rain-effected game, claiming a 6-0 win after a near 90-minute rain delay during the seventh inning.

The win marks the third straight for the Rockies (61-94), wins that have come after a nine-game losing streak. Tuesday night, Colorado picked up a shortened 10-5 win over the Cubs (59-96) when rain ended the game in the seventh inning.

Drew Pomeranz (2-9) picked up his first win since July 6, striking out three in his five shutout innings. First baseman Jordan Pacheco got the scoring started for the Rockies in the first inning, hitting an RBI double before later being driven home. Colorado would add four more runs in the third inning, keyed by a leadoff solo home run from Charlie Blackmon.

The Rockies go for the series sweep Thursday with Jhoulys Chacin (2-5, 4.73 ERA) on the mound, who will pitch against Chicago's Chris Volstad (3-10, 6.22).
