The Colorado Rockies might have had a rough season at the big league level, but their minor league prospects continue to wind up on Baseball America's league-by-league Top 20 prospect lists following the 2012 MiLB season.
Shortstop/third baseman Trevor Story was ranked No. 2 by on Baseball America's 2012 South Atlantic League Top 20 list. The 19-year old Story had a solid season for the Asheville Tourists, batting .277 with 18 home runs, 63 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 122 games for the Rockies' Low-A club. Story was also ranked the Rockies No. 6 prospect in the team's system and the No. 1 prospect in the Pioneer League after the 2011 season.
Outfielder Kyle Parker landed the No. 8 spot on Baseball America's 2012 California League Top 20 list. Parker torched Cal league pitching for a .308 batting average with 23 home runs and 73 RBI in 102 games for the High-A Modesto Nuts. He also posted an impressive .977 OPS on the year. Parker was rated the best power hitter in the Rockies' system after the 2010 season.
