Rockies' Coty Woods, Corey Dickerson selected to play AFL rising stars game

A pair of Rockies prospects have chosen to play in Saturday's showcase game.

Colorado Rockies prospects Coty Woods and Corey Dickerson have been selected to play in the Rising Stars game for the Arizona Fall League on Saturday. The players have been selected to play for the East team for their play with the Salt River Rafters.

Woods, a 6'2" pitcher, has pitched 7-1/3 innings in six Arizona Fall League appearance, posting a a 1-0 record with a 2.45 ERA. The right-hander has allowed just three hits while striking out five and walking one. In the 2012 regular season, Woods split 61 games between double-A Tulsa and triple-A Colorado Springs with a 4-4 record and 3.20 ERA.

The outfielder Dickerson has appeared in 11 games, hitting .268 with one home run and three RBI. The left-handed hitter has also stolen five bases and knocked out two doubles. In his 2012 regular season, he played 127 games between single-A Modesto and double-A Tulsa, hitting .304 with 22 home runs and 81 RBI.

The game will be played on Sat., Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. MT, and will air live on MLB Network and MLB.com.
