Rockies vs. Diamondbacks final score: Aaron Hill hits walkoff homer for 5-3 Arizona win

For a second night in a row the Colorado Rockies were unable to close things out in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but, unlike on Monday, Tuesday's game ended in a 5-3 loss. Aaron Hill hit a three-run home run off closer Rafael Betancourt to end the game.

The Diamondbacks scored all of their runs on home runs, with the other two coming in the seventh inning on a John McDonald two-run shot off Guillermo Moscoso.

The Rockies opened the scoring in the second inning on a Charlie Blackmon double play and then regained the lead in the eighth inning on a Jordan Pacheco two-run double that had been set up by a Josh Rutledge single and a Tyler Colvin double.

Jhoulys Chacin finished the season at 3-5 with a 4.43 ERA after pitching five shutout innings. He struck out four while allowing three hits and two walks. Diamondbacks starter Patrick Corbin (6-8, 4.54 ERA) went seven innings and surrendered a run on Blackmon's double play. David Hernandez allowed the Pacheco two-run double. Brad Ziegler (6-1) picked up the win.

The Rockies (63-98, 28-52 away) close out the season on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. MT, with Ian Kennedy and Jeff Francis the projected starters.
