The Denver Nuggets are looking to hand the Los Angeles Clippers their first loss in more than a month, and lead 48-43 after two quarters on New Year's Day.
Both teams are getting sound contributions from their starting lineups, as the Nuggets are being paced by 11 points (4-of-8 shooting) from Danilo Gallinari and 10 points and seven rebounds from forward Kenneth Faried.
Andre Miller started in place of point guard Ty Lawson, who is out for Tuesday's contest after straining his Achilles' tendon. Miller has four points and six assists at the break.
Clippers point man Chris Paul has six points, three rebounds and four assists, while DeAndre Jordan leads Los Angeles in scoring at halftime with nine points, adding eight rebounds and two blocks to boot.
Denver, 9-1 at home so far this season, built a 21-19 lead after the first quarter and jumped out quickly in the second, scoring 10 of the quarter's first 14 overall points. The Nuggets, while trying to end Los Angeles's 17-game winning streak, could also avenge a 112-100 loss to the Clippers on Christmas Day.
