The Denver Nuggets split two games this weekend by beating the Dallas Mavericks, 106-85, on Friday then falling to the Memphis Grizzlies, 81-72, on the back-to-back game on Saturday. The Nuggets got a 39-point scoring outburst for Danilo Gallinari and 20 more from Andre Iguodala in the win, but against Memphis had no player score more than 12 points as the team shot just 42.6 percent from the floor.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers extended their winning streak to 17 games and finished off a perfect month of December. Vinny Del Negro's team beat the Utah Jazz twice this weekend, coming from behind on Friday to win 116-114 before again beating the Jazz, 107-96, on Sunday.

After rolling on a five-game winning streak, the Houston Rockets fell 122-116 to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday and 124-94 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.

The Miami Heat lost in a 109-99 upset against the Detroit Pistons on Friday, then again on Saturday in a 104-85 defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.
