The Denver Nuggets had their three-game win streak snapped Thursday night in a 101-93 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland jumped to an 11-point lead after one quarter and never relinquished their advantage, surviving a late Denver run. The loss drops the Nuggets to 14-13 on the season. Portland evened its record at 12-12.
Denver was led by 13 points and 8 assists from Ty Lawson. Andre Iguodala added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Forward Corey Brewer came off the bench to add 13 points and nine boards. Andre Miller came just short of a triple double, scoring 12 points and adding nine rebounds and seven assists.
Portland center J.J. Hickson recorded a double-double, scoring 18 and grabbing 18 rebounds. Nicolas Batum scored 22 to lead the Trail Blazers. Wesley Matthews added 20 points. Damian Lillard dished out 10 assists, scoring 12.
Denver gets Friday night off before hosting the Charlotte Bobcats Saturday at the Pepsi Center.
