2012 NBA schedule: Nuggets set to face San Antonio, Portland this week

George Karl's Nuggets will hope to keep their offensive production going strong this week against both the Spurs and Trail Blazers.

After wrapping up wins against both Memphis and Sacramento over the weekend, the Denver Nuggets will try to remain above the .500 mark this week with a pair of games against Western Conference opponents.

The Nuggets dropped a season-high 122 points against the Kings on Sunday to snatch their 13th victory of the season, and have now won five out of eight games thus far in the month of December. George Karl's team will definitely have its hands to begin the week of games however, as Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs are prepared to come to town for a showdown on Tuesday night. The Spurs already thrashed the Nuggets, 126-100, back on Nov. 17 earlier in the year, and are currently tied for the NBA lead with 19 wins on the season.

After a day of rest, the Nuggets will then hit the court on Thursday night out in Portland for a date with the Blazers. Despite sitting one game out of a Western Conference playoff spot at 11-12, the Blazers have reeled off three straight victories and currently hold a winning record against West opponents. Though Thursday's game will be the first meeting of the season, the Nuggets went just 1-2 against the Blazers last year.
