Hornets vs. Nuggets final score: Denver dominates at home, 102-84

The Denver Nuggets built a 22-point lead by the end of the third quarter in a lopsided win over New Orleans on Sunday night.

The Denver Nuggets used a big third quarter and strong defense overall to beat the New Orleans Hornets, 102-84 ,on Sunday night. The win was the fourth in a row for Denver, coming off a 102-91 victory over Golden State on Friday and moves the Nuggets to 8-6 on the season after starting 0-3.

Leading 51-41 at the half, Denver put up 32 points in the third quarter to build a 22-point lead heading into the final frame. The big lead allowed the Nuggets to rest several starters in the fourth, as Denver easily cruised to a lopsided victory at home.

Shooting guard Andre Iguodala led the charge for Denver, putting up 23 points and a plus-29 for the game while shooting 3-4 from long distance. Forward Kenneth Faried dominated on the boards, grabbing ten defensive reboards and 12 boards overall while adding 14 points. Point guard Ty Lawson added six assists while shooting 80 percent for the game.

As a team, the Nuggest shot 53.3 percent while holding New Orleans to just 38.8 percent shooting from the field. Guard Brian Roberts was the most productive for the Hornets, scoring 17 points in 23 minutes off the bench.
