Andre Iguodala won't have to wait long to play in front of his former hometown crowd, as his new team, the Denver Nuggets open their 2012-13 campaign on the road against the team that traded the All-Star in the offseason, the Philadelphia 76ers, on Wednesday.
Iguodala came to Denver in a four-way trade that landed Dwight Howard in Los Angeles and Andrew Bynum in Philadelphia. Bynum won't be active for Philly. Iguodala, one of the top perimeter defenders in the league, will help to shore up a Denver defense that was one of the worst in the NBA last season.
The Nuggets will also be relying on starting point guard Ty Lawson, who just Tuesday signed a four-year extension with the team. Forward Danilo Gallinari is a game-time decision for Denver with an ankle injury.
Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. MT from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The game can be seen in Denver on Altitude.
