The Northern Colorado Bears went down early and could never catch up as they fell to the Weber State Wildcats on Thursday night, 79-54.

Weber State started out with a 21-8 run, led by Scott Bamforth's great shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Northern Colorado eventually started to put in points of their own, but they were never able to so much as keep pace with the Wildcats, who led by as many as 32 points before the game finally finished. Bamforth ended the evening with 22 points, leading the scoring charts.

Tate Unruh led the Bears with 15 points and six rebounds, while Connor Osborne chipped in with five points and eight rebounds. Though the Bears were effective on the offense, they had problems with ball security, turning it over 21 times.

The win kept the Wildcats undefeated in Big Sky play.

Northern Colorado will have a chance to recover when they face the Idaho State Bengals, who have yet to win a game yet in Big Sky play, on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. MT.
