The Northern Colorado Bears have experienced a season with more lows and highs, but they've been battling hard throughout the season and are still hoping to close out the Big Sky conference schedule with a win. Their final regular season conference matchup comes against the Portland State Vikings, who are currently ranked No. 3 in the Big Sky and are headed to the conference tournament. The Bears have alternated wins and losses over the last four games, and are coming off a tough 88–71 loss to the Weber State Wildcats last Thursday. Meanwhile, the Vikings have won five of their last six games.
Senior Mike Proctor scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds on Thursday -- the fourth double double in his collegiate career -- and he will be trying to end his career with a bang. Fans can also get a look at the future of the team. Tevin Svihovec, a freshman guard, scored a Division I school record 34 points in Northern Colorado's win last Saturday night, but he floundered against Weber St. with just nine points on 3-13 shooting and five turnovers. With a strong performance he can end the season with the team's highest scoring average.
