Loveland High's Alec Hansen commits to Oklahoma baseball

Alec Hansen, a pitcher from Loveland High School, has committed to the Oklahoma Sooner baseball team.

Loveland High School senior pitcher Alec Hansen has committed to the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team. The big 6'7, 200 pound hurler had gone to Norman, OK earlier in the week on an official visit and quickly committed.

Other schools that were courting the young pitcher included Oregon, Oregon State and Washington. Hansen said that Oklahoma's coaching staff was what kept him interested in the Sooners more than the other schools that were asking for his services:

“The biggest thing for me was the coaches there,” Hansen said. “I loved the coaches there, really good people. Just overall the atmosphere there, I felt like it was a better fit for me.”

Hansen is expected to play sooner rather than later for Oklahoma, who signed him to get time with the team quickly. The Sooners baseball team went 42-25 in the 2012 season, with a 13-10 record in their conference and a strong 23-8 record in Oklahoma.
