UTSA vs. Denver: Roadrunners travel to Denver to face Pioneers

Denver is hot, and UTSA is not, heading into Sunday's game.

Andrew Fielding-US PRESSWIRE

The Denver Pioneers, who have won five of their last seven games, take on the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners on Sunday at Denver's Magness Arena.

Denver's 5-2 stretch has been particularly impressive because of its offensive efficiency. The Pioneers have shot 52.3 percent from the floor in that time, and also lead the WAC in scoring defense (allowing 57.0 points per game). Denver is making its first and only run through the WAC after moving over from the Sun Belt Conference last year; it has already announced it will move to the Summit League at the end of the academic year.

The Roadrunners are 4-9 this season and 0-3 so far in WAC play. They have Kannon Burrage, who is second in the WAC with 17.3 points per game, but are averaging a -6.8 point scoring margin.

The game tips off Sunday at 2 p.m. MT. It is not televised, but can be heard on 1510 AM and 93.7 FM in Denver.
