The Denver Pioneers are very slowly scratching their way back to a winning record, and got their latest victory on Thursday night as they took down the Texas State Bobcats, 64-53, at Magness Arena. The win was Denver's sixth of the year and second in WAC play, where the Bobcats have yet to win a game.
As per usual this season, Denver's offense was led by junior forward Chris Udofia, who helped to get the Pios in the lead with 13 first-half points. He ended the game with 15 points, leading a balanced attack that included sophomore Brett Olson scoring 13 points and senior Chase Hallam putting in 11. The Pioneers were killer from beyond the arc, shooting 9-for-18.
Vonn Jones led the Bobcats and the scoring chart in general with 16 points.
Denver will have a shot at getting back to .500 at home on Saturday, when they host Texas San Antonio at 2 p.m. MT.
