The Denver Pioneers play a rare Friday night game as they continue their three-game home stand and take on the Bellarmine Knights at 7:00 p.m. at Peter Barton Stadium. The Pioneers, currently ranked No. 9/11 have won two straight after two tough losses on the road. Last Saturday, they had no problem defeating Hobart in a 15-8 conference win.
Senior Mark Matthews (second active career goal scorer in the nation) continues to lead the Pioneers with 37 points on 25 goals and 12 assists while carrying a 38-game goal scoring streak into today's game. Junior Chase Carraro leads the team in face-off's with a .6158 face-off percentage. DU has out-scored its opponents 115-74 through eight games so far.
The Bellarmine Knights, from Louisville, Kentucky, enter today's game with a 3-4 record. The team is 0-3 in the ECAC, dropping games to Loyola, Ohio State and Fairfield. They are led by Michael Ward who has tallied 15 goals and two assists.
