North Texas Vs. Denver: Pioneers Close Out Sun Belt Regular Season Against Mean Green

The Denver Pioneers play their final regular season Sun Belt contest on Sunday afternoon by welcoming the North Texas Mean Green to Magness Arena.

The Denver Pioneers (20-8) play their last Sun Belt regular season game on Sunday afternoon when they host the North Texas Mean Green (16-12) at Magness Arena. A win gives the Pioneers the No. 3 seed, but a loss puts them in a three-way tie at 10-6. Due to tiebreakers, the Pioneers would fall down to the No. 5 seed.

The Pioneers already lost to North Texas once before this season, a 75-74 loss at the Super Pit in Denton, Tx. Alzee Williams made the tip-in at the buzzer in overtime to defeat the Pioneers. Pioneers freshman Royce O'Neale scored 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds off the bench.

The Mean Green will look to end the Pioneers' three-game winning streak by starting its own winning streak. Ever since North Texas' own three-game winning streak that culminated in beating the Pioneers on Jan. 2, losses and wins have been alternated each game for the Mean Green. Alzee Williams scored 25 points in an overtime victory over Arkansas-Little Rock. Tony Mitchell was a monster around the board with 16 rebounds.

Game time/date: 1:00 p.m. MT, Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012

Location: Magness Arena, Denver, CO

Radio: AM 1510 and FM 93.7
