North Dakota Vs. Denver: Pioneers Prepare For Final Regular Season Home Series

After falling to the Wisconsin Badgers 5-2 last Saturday night and splitting the two-game road series the Denver Pioneers return home for the final home series of the regular season against North Dakota. The No. 14 Fighting Sioux are coming off of a 1-0-1 series at home against Michigan Tech and a road split with No. 3 ranked Minnesota Duluth. They are tied for fourth in the WCHA standings with Colorado College and Nebraska Omaha, three points behind the third-place Pioneers.

Denver's 5-2 loss to Wisconsin ended their recent four-game unbeaten streak. The Badgers were led by 22 saves from goalie Landon Peterson and goals from Mark Zengerle, Brandon Woods, Keegan Meuer, Michael Mersch and Justin Schultz. Pioneer goalie Sam Brittain made 30 saves in his sixth start in the last seven games and should get the call in at least one of this weekends match-ups. Whoever's between the pipes will have to deal with the Fighting Sioux's goal scoring tandem of Brock Nelson and Danny Kristo, who have 35 and 33 point on the season, respectively.

Friday night's game begins at 8:10 p.m and will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network while Saturday's game begins at 7:07 and will be shown on Root Sports.
