Louisiana-Lafayette Vs. Denver Preview: Pioneers Entering Final Stretch

The Denver Pioneers are hosting the Lousiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns on Wednesday in a battle of Sun Belt Conference rivals.

The Denver Pioneers are hosting the Lousiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns on Wednesday in a battle of Sun Belt Conference rivals. Lousiana-Lafayette and Arkansas-Little Rock are the two teams ahead of Denver in the conference's West division standings, so a victory on Wednesday would be huge for the Pioneers.

Consistency has been an issue for Denver of late, as the team has won just three of its past seven games, but bad luck has also been a huge factor for the Pioneers. During this recent touch stretch, the Pioneers have lost three separate games by exactly one point apiece, including two of those defeats in overtime. Losing close games has been a constant issue for Denver all season.

The Pioneers still have some hope if they can finish the season strong, though. Only Middle Tennessee has a better record among Sun Belt Conference teams, and Denver is the only team from the conference to pull off a victory against them this season.
