Mercer vs. Denver: Pioneers try to halt losing streak against Bears

The Denver Pioneers will try to stop their four-game losing streak Wednesday when they host the Mercer Bears

The Denver Pioneers (1-5) will try to win their second game of the season when they welcome the Mercer Bears (4-4) to Magness Arena Wednesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT and the game will be broadcasted live on Mile High Sports 93.7 FM/1510 AM.

The Pioneers are in the midst of a four-game losing streak, with their last game a 71-58 defeat to the Stanford Cardinal on Dec. 2. Denver had four players in double-figures against Stanford, with Royce O'Neale leading the way with 17 points. Chris Udofia, Cam Griffin and Jalen Love each chipped in 10 points for the Pioneers.

Mercer, on the other hand, is coming off of its biggest win in recent history, defeating the Florida State Seminoles, 61-56, on Dec. 2. Travis Smith led the Bears with 13 points, while Langston Hall chipped in with 10 points, five assists and five steals. Jakob Gollon and Monty Brown each added nine points for Mercer.
