The Denver Pioneers (9-4-1) started off the 2012 college hockey season as one of the hottest teams in the nation, and certainly the hottest team in the WCHA. In the past few weeks, their form has slipped somewhat, which has left them falling in the latest college hockey ratings by the USCHO.
Denver drew once and lost once against unranked Wisconsin at Magness Arena over the weekend, which knocked them down one spot to No. 6 in the latest rankings. Denver has not won in its last four games, going 0-3-1 since sweeping the Colorado College Tigers for their most recent two wins.
The Tigers (8-7-1) are still stirring around near the bottom of the Top 20, moving down from No. 19 to No. 20 in the most recent rankings. Air Force, Colorado's other main college hockey team, was not ranked.
