Nebraska-Omaha vs. Denver final score: Pioneers defeat Mavericks

The Denver Pioneers easily handled the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks Saturday, using a big first half to down the visitors, 82-47.

Nebraska-Omaha actually held a 10-7 advantage five minutes into the contest, but Denver quickly put the game out of reach using a 25-0 run. The Pioneers entered the second half leading the Mavericks 45-15.

On the night the Pioneers shot over 60% from the field and made roughly 58% of their three-point attempts. Royce O'Neale led the way for Denver, scoring 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting with 10 rebounds and four assists. Chase Hallam (12), Chris Udofia (11), Brett Olson (11), Nate Engesser (11) and Cam Griffin (10) also reached double digits for the Pioneers.

Alex Welhouse (12) was the only Mavericks player to log a double-digit scoring effort.

The Pioneers next contest comes Tuesday when they travel to Wyoming to take on the Cowboys. Nebraska Omaha also plays Tuesday when they host the Benedictine Ravens.
