The Air Force Falcons and Denver Pioneers men's hockey teams each split a two-game docket this weekend, and Colorado College won its two games against the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison, Wisc.
Air Force dropped its Friday game against Holy Cross in a 3-2 decision. After going ahead 2-0 in the first period, the Crusaders responded with three goals in the second and held on in the third for the win. The Falcons recovered on Saturday with force, beating Holy Cross 7-0 as goalie Jason Torf recorded his first shutout of the year.
Denver lost its first game of the year in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of St. Cloud State on Friday, but recovered nicely the next day, using a hat trick from Chris Knowlton to cruise to a 6-1 victory. The Pioneers sit at 5-1 on the year.
Meanwhile, Colorado College went to Madison, Wisc., and defeated the Badgers 5-4 in an overtime victory Friday and then 3-0 in a Saturday shutout win.
