The Denver Pioneers' mens basketball team opens the home portion of its schedule Wednesday night when they host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Denver is looking for its first win of the season. The Pioneers (0-1) fell 65-58 to Iona last Friday to open their season. They return seven players this season from a team that won a school-record 22 Division I games last season and a second-place finish in the Sun Belt West Division.
Key players returning this year for Denver include All-SBC First Team and reigning conference Defensive Player of the Year Chris Udofia; Royce O'Neil, who led the team rebounding last year; three-point sharpshooter Brett Olson; and Chase Hallam, who made all-conference second team in 2010-11.
TAMCC won its season opener 60-49 over Texas Lutheran. The Islanders are coming off a 6-24 season.
The Denver Pioneers host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. MT on Wednesday. Live video and audio is available on the team's website.
