College Hockey rankings 2012: Denver Pioneers move up to No. 2

Denver is No. 2 in the latest college hockey rankings.

The Denver Pioneers are No. 2 in the latest USCHO.com NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Rankings, up one spot from No. 3. The Pioneers swept two games with Minnesota State on the road last week, 4-3 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.

The Pioneers were also No. 2 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine rankings.

Colorado College came in at No. 14, up five spots from No. 19. Denver (7-1-1) and Colorado College meet for two games this weekend, 7:37 p.m. MT Friday night in Colorado Springs and 7:07 p.m. Saturday night in Denver.

Boston College stayed at No. 1 in the rankings, receiving all 50 first-place votes. Minnesota, Miami (Ohio), New Hampshire, North Dakota, Union, Notre Dame, Western Michigan and Cornell round out the top 10. New to the rankings were Boston University at No. 12 and Nebraska-Omaha at No. 18. UMass-Lowell and Minnesota-Duluth fell out of the rankings this week.
