Denver Pioneers' Chris Udofia selected to preseason all-WAC teams

Junior forward Chris Udofia, DU's Male Co-Athlete of the year last season, was selected to the preseason All-WAC first team.

The Denver Pioneers basketball team is expected to be near the top of the pack in the WAC this season, and junior Chris Udofia is expected to be one of the best players on their team. In both the preseason media and coaches polls, the Pioneers were picked to finish third in the conference in 2012, behind Utah State and New Mexico State.

Udofia, last season's 2011-12 Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year and last season's Male Co-Athlete of the Year for the University, was selected to the preseason All-WAC first team. He helped last season's Pioneers team to 22 wins with a solid defensive game, putting up enough blocks per game to be 30th in the nation in the statistic. He also landed fourth in the WAC in points and field goal percentage per game.

With Udofia as the leader of the team, the Pioneers should have an easy enough time replicating their best ever season in Division I.
