With the Denver Pioneers returning to the practice court for the first time since their appearance in the NCAA Tournament last spring, junior forward Chris Udofia expressed his excitement for the upcoming season with the school's website recently.
Udofia, the team's top returning player after scoring a team-leading 15.6 points per game last season, is the centerpiece of coach Joe Scott's roster. Following the team's first practice, Udofia noted that it's good to get the roster back together after a summer off, and, "if we play hard and play well, I think we can be successful."
Scott also made a few comments, noting that he's happy about how his experienced group of players performed during the team's first practice of the season. More than once, he mentioned the importance of "meshing the old with the new," as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
The Pioneers open their season on Nov. 9 against the Iona Gaels.
