The Denver Pioneers men's basketball program begin a string of games that features three consecutive road contests, as they visit Arkansas St. Red Wolves in Sun Belt Conference game (6:05 p.m.) at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro, AK. The Pioneers (11-3, 1-1 Sun Belt) are looking to get back to their winning way after having their five-game winning streak snapped Saturday vs. Ark.-Little Rock Trojans, while the Red Wolves (7-8, 1-0) are trying to remaining unbeaten in league play.
On Saturday, the Pioneers dropped a West Division contest to the Trojans, who led 34-27 at halftime. Forward Rob Lewis tallied six points, two assists and seven rebounds, while teammate, forward Chris Udofia, netted 12 points.
Currently, Brian Stafford leads the Pioneers is scoring with 14.6 points per game, but Udofia isn't far behind with an even 14.0 ppg.
Meanwhile, the Arkansas-Little Rock is coming over a slim 65-63 victory over ULM Warhawks Saturday. Currently, four players are averaging in double-digits for the Red Wolves, who are paced by senior forward Malcon Kirkland (11.8 points per game). Junior guard Brandon Peterson is averaging a near double-double with 10.9 ppg and a team-leading 7.2 rebounds per game.
