The Air Force Falcons hockey team might have picked up its signature win of the season with a 2-1 victory over the No. 6 Colorado College Tigers. This battle between two schools in Colorado Springs saw the Falcons pick up a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period. Scott Mathis scored a power play goal at 8:32 in the first period while Casey Kleisinger picked up the game-winning goal on a short-handed goal at 15:04 in the second period.
Mike Boivin put Colorado College on board at 7:50 in the final period, but that was the only goal that was put past Stephen Caple, who made 33 saves. Air Force had just 17 shots on net, but the team was able to slip two past Josh Thorimbert.
The Falcons improved to 10-4-2 while the Tigers are 11-6-0.

The Denver Pioneers improved to 9-7-3 with a 3-1 victory over Union on Friday night. All of the scoring took place in the first period. The Pioneers scored the first three goals of the game off the sticks of Drew Shore (10), Joey LaLeggia (7) and Shawn Ostrow (6). Jeremy Walsh avoided the shutout for Union by scoring at 14:45 in the period.
Juho Olkinuora faced an onslaught of shots from Union, but he stopped 42 of 43 shots. His teammates put 28 on Union's net.
