Troy Vs. Denver Final Score: Pioneers Ride Strong First Half To 79-62 Win

The Denver Pioneers got out to an early lead against the Troy Trojans on Thursday night and managed to keep it for the entire game. The Pioneers had a double-digit lead for nearly three-quarters of their 79-62 victory at home.

The game was tight for the first few minutes, but the Pioneers went on a 22-6 run that helped them to push out to a 31-15 lead. They expanded the lead to as much as 21 before taking a 41-25 lead into halftime, and they fought off Troy's attempts to get back into the thick of things. At one point, the Trojans went on an 8-0 run to cut Denver's lead to 12 points, but the Pioneers responded with an 8-1 run of their own.

Brian Stafford was the leading scorer for Denver with 26 points on 8-for-13 shooting, including 5-for-9 shooting from three-point range. Chris Udofia had another solid night for the Pioneers as well, putting up 17 points and 10 rebounds. Troy's leading scorers were Will Weathers and R.J. Scott with 13 points apiece.
