Citadel Vs. Denver Final Score: Pioneers Win 70-58 At Home

The Denver Pioneers rode a strong first half to a 70-58 victory over the Citadel Bulldogs on Thursday night, winning for the fourth consecutive time this season. Denver pulled out to a 37-19 lead going into halftime, and held off Citadel's attempts to comeback from behind in the second half.

At one point, Citadel cut Denver's lead to just 21-19 with roughly five minutes left in the first half, but the Bulldogs wouldn't score again in the half as the Pioneers scored 16 unanswered points down the stretch. The run continued in the second half, as Denver expanded the lead to 48-22 early in the second half. All in all, it was a 27-3 run that essentially put the game out of Citadel's reach.

Sophomore forward Chris Udofia led the way for the Pioneers on Thursday, scoring 19 points while adding 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Denver also got ten points apiece from three players, Brett Olson, Chase Hallam and Royce O'Neale. Citadel got 16 points from center Mike Groselle and 15 points from guard DeVontae Wright. Denver had a major advantage at the free throw line, taking 20 attempts compared to just 3 by Citadel.
