Denver Pioneers Lacrosse Receives Preseason Honors

The Denver Pioneers have placed two players on Inside Lacrosse's All-Name Team for the 2012 season. Making the first team is freshman midfielder Sander Aplet. Peer Fish, a sophomore midfielder, made the second team.

Air Force had senior defender Dayton Gilbreath appears on the third team.

All right, in serious rankings and teams, the Denver Pioneers are the No. 7 team in the Preseason Coaches Poll and have placed four players across the Preseason All-America Teams: attacker Mark Matthews (1st), midfielder Chase Carraro (2nd), attacker Alex Demopoulos and midfielder Jeremy Noble (3rd) and midfielder Cam Flint (HM).

The Pioneers reached the semifinals of the 2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament in 2011 before falling to the eventual champions, the Virginia Cavaliers. The Pioneers will look to capture another ECAC championship and return to the NCAA Tournament. It should be another solid year for the Pioneers, a rising power in the college lacrosse world.
