Denver University used a precise offensive performance to generate a 14-point halftime lead over Boise St. The Pioneers shot 71.4% from the field in the opening half and limited the Broncos to just 36.8% shooting.
Chris Udofia was particularly impressive for DU, as he scored 11 points on 4/5 shooting to lead the Pioneers. Justin Coughlin came off the bench to score nine points on 4/6 shooting from the field. The Pioneers did an excellent job of taking care of the ball, turning the ball over only five times.
Boise St. struggled to hit open looks in the opening half, with leading scorer Anthony Drmic missing all four of his shots and going scoreless. The Broncos did receive strong contributions from junior forward Kenny Buckner and freshman guard Derrick Marks, who both scored nine points in the opening half.
