The Denver Pioneers have been one of the most pleasant surprises in college basketball, as they have jumped out to a 7-2 start, with the only losses coming against Cal and Iona. However, the Pioneers will face another stiff test tonight, when they host the Boise St. Broncos in the opening game of a five-game homestand.
Denver enters this game on the heels of an impressive 71-65 victory at Northern Colorado. Brian Stafford continued his impressive start to the season, netting a team-high 16 points in the win. Stafford is averaging a team-high 14.9 ppg this season, while shooting over 50% from the field.
Boise St. is coming off of a disappointing 64-45 loss at LSU. The Broncos had won five straight prior to the loss in Baton Rogue. Boise St. has struggled on the road so far this season, as the Broncos have dropped each of their two road games. Freshman forward Anthony Drmic has been outstanding for Boise St., averaging a team-high 14 ppg.
