The Air Force Falcons hockey team played to a 3-3 overtime tie against the Canisius Griffins last weekend in their only game on the schedule then. The Falcons haven't lost since they opened the season with back-to-back losses in the 2011 Ice Breaker Tournament to North Dakota and Michigan State. That has them at 3-0-2 over their last five games and now overall at 3-2-2.
The Falcons are led on offense by Kyle DeLaurell, who has six goals and 10 points. That total is second to Cole Gunner, who has 11 points on two goals and nine assists. Stephen Caple has proven to be a strong replacement for Jason Torf in net. He has a 1.93 GAA and a .915 save percentage after making 107 saves on 117 shots.
The Sacred Heart Pioneers enter this series 0-6. Brian Sheehan leads the team with four goals and five points. Eric Delong and Matt Gingera follow with four points each. Andrew Bodnarchuk and Steven Legatto have split time in net, but neither been able to stop the puck all that well (23 in five games for the former, 11 in three games for the latter).
Friday's game starts at 7:00 p.m. MT while Saturday's moves to 7:30 p.m. MT to allow the campus to get cleared after the Falcons football teams plays Army.
