College Hockey Rankings: Merrimack Moves To No. 1, Denver Pioneers Re-enter Top 10

The Merrimack Warrior have reached No. 1 in the college hockey polls for the first time in the program's history. The USCHO Top 20 and the USA Hockey Poll have elevated the Warriors to that spot this week. The Warriors are the only remaining undefeated team in the nation. The Warriors were idle this past week while the previous No. 1, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, went 1-1 against St. Cloud State over the weekend. The Gophers fell to No. 3 in the USCHO poll and No. 2 in the USA Hockey poll.

The Denver Pioneers re-entered the Top 10 at No. 9/10 in the polls after picking up a 7-3 victory over Nebraska-Omaha and then rallying for a 3-3 tie in the next game. In other local news, the Tigers moved to No. 4 in both polls after defeating the Wisconsin Badgers in two games over the weekend.
