Air Force Hockey Hosts Canisius College Griffins

The Air Force Falcons are back in Colorado Springs on Saturday for a game against the Canisius College Griffins. After going 1-01 against the Alabama Huntsville Chargers last week, the Falcons are back into Atlantic Hockey conference play where they are 2-0.

The Griffins are 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. After dropping their first two games of the season to Quinnipiac, the Griffins bounced back with a win in their conference opener against the RIT Tigers, 3-1. Kyle Gibbons leads the team with two goals and three points. Scott Moser and Preston Shupe have the two other goals for the Griffins. Dan Morrison and Tony Capobianco have shared time in net this season, but each one is allowing four goals per game.

For their efforts against Alabama-Huntsville, Cole Gunner and Kyle DeLaurell took home AHA rookie of the week and player of the week awards, respectively. Gunner and DeLaurell each had two goals and four points to garner the acclaim. They lead the team with nine points each.

Stephen Caple remains in goal for the Falcons with Jason Torf sidelined with a groin injury. He has a 1.70 GAA in four games, allowing seven goals on 93 shots.
