Jason Zucker, Denver Pioneers Hockey Travel For Series Against Michigan Tech

The No. 2 Denver Pioneers stay in the WCHA this weekend for a series against the Michigan Tech Huskies. The Pioneers moved up one spot to No. 2 after defeating Minnesota State last weekend, 4-2 and 10-2. Jason Zucker is off to a hot start this season with three goals and eight points through the first four games of the season. Drew Shore is tied with Zucker for the team lead in goals and is just one point behind Zucker for the season.

Defensemen David Makowski and Joe LaLeggia have combined for nine points already this season. LaLeggia is just a freshman and expected to contribute heavily this season. Junior goalie Adam Murray has a 2.64 GAA for now, as he has been taken advantage of on opposing teams' power plays. He has allowed four goals with the man-disadvantage.

The Huskies enter this game with a 4-2 record under new coach Mel Pearson. Brett Olson has helped the team to that record with two goals and five assists. Steven Seigo and Jordan Baker are right behind him with six and five points, respectively. Jacob Johnstone and Blake Pietila, though, lead the team with three goals each.

The pucks drops at 5:07 p.m. MT
