Air Force Hockey Dominates Alabama-Huntsville In 7-2 Victory

One night after a 1-1 tie with the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers, the Air Force Falcons hockey team picked up a 7-2 victory. The Falcons are now 3-2-1 after this non-conference road series.

The Chargers held a 1-0 lead at 9:32 in the first period after Craig Pierce scored, but the Falcons charged back with two goals in the latter half of the period. Casey Kleisinger picked up his third goal of the season and Chad Demers netted his first of the season on a later power play.

The Falcons soared in the second period with three goals. Alex Halloran ran scored the first on a power play goal almost four minutes into the period. Cole Gunner and Stephen Carew added the other for a 5-1 lead. Kyle DeLaurell netted his fourth and fifth goals of the season in the third period before Kyle Lysaght scored with six second left in the game.

Goalie Stephen Caple made 18 saves on 19 shot for the Falcons. Clarke Saunders fell to 0-5-1 for the Chargers after allowing all seven goals.

The Falcons face Canisius on Oct. 29 for the only game on their docket next week.
