Colorado College Tigers Begin Season With Weekend Series Against Bemidji State

The Colorado College Tigers start the 2011-12 season with a two-game series at home in the World Center this weekend. They will play a WCHA foe, the Bemidji State Beavers. The Tigers are coming off two exhibition victories, a 3-2 win over McGill University and a 5-0 victory over the U.S. Under-18 team.

The Tigers will look to sophomore forward Jaden Schwartz to capitalize on his freshman season that was cut short due to injury. He had 47 points (17 goals, 30 assists) in just 30 games. He should be a top contender for the Hobey Baker award.

The Bemidji State Beavers went 1-1 to start the season. They split a two-game series against the Miami University Redhawks last weekend. After taking the first game, 5-3, the Beavers lost a close one the next day, 3-2. Aaron McLeod and Brad Hunt are tied for the team lead with three points each. McLeod leads the team with two goals.

The puck drops at 7:37 p.m. MT on Friday night.
