Team USA Basketball Vs. Spain Halftime Score: U.S. Holds Slight Lead, 59-58

At halftime of the basketball gold medal game, Team USA leads Spain, 59-58. The United States had jumped out to a 35-27 lead after the first quarter, but Spain took a seven-point advantage in the second quarter, 31-24.

Both teams have relied on the three-point shot to build up their points total. Spain's Juan Carlos Navarro has knocked down four of his team's seven threes while four United States players have made two each from beyond the arc. Navarro leads Spain with 19 point; his counterpart in leading scorer on Team USA is Kevin Durant with 17 points.

Nuggets' shooting guard Andre Iguodala has seen some playing time, but he has just one rebound, one turnover and one foul at halftime.

The referees are calling plenty of fouls in this game, with the United States at 17 and Spain at 16. Marc Gasol already has four fouls.
